In the league of affordable brands with a knack for trendy silhouettes, Reformation is a clear winner among millennials and Gen Z. Founded in 2009 by Yael Aflalo, the California-based retailer excels at infusing a sense of vintage romanticism into contemporary shapes, and the formula seems to be working. The price point is approachable, while the garments (and admittedly, the brand imagery) seem imbued with a cool-girl factor.
For fall, Aflalo’s design team looked to the ‘90s to introduce a range of items fit for becoming cold-weather staples or statement makers reserved for special occasions. Personally, I own one of the pieces—the Beckie Cashmere Collared Sweater, and can speak to its ease of wear and versatility. It’s given me a taste for more, so I went looking for the absolute must-haves in the fall collection.
From a seductive slip skirt to an ultra cool pair of ballet flats, the fall offerings make a strong case for joining your weekly rotation. But you won’t want to miss the sheer two-piece set or shimmery knit top, which call for date nights or holiday parties. There is also a faux-fur jacket that guarantees style and attitude, as well as an off-shoulder knit top that is as office-ready as it is fit for late night cocktails in a dimly lit booth.
Ahead, discover the items that will be making their way into my shopping carts.

Beckie Cashmere Collared Sweater

Florentina Knit Top
In the age of quiet luxury, this Florentina Knit Top ($98) takes a page out of Khaite’s famous Rafael bodysuit to introduce a fall-ready and budget-friendly option. With its louche silhouette and classical sensibility, it exudes modern elegance in an understated way. It’s a no-brainer for formal events, but can be made more casual with denim jeans and kitten heels.

Skylar Pump
Taking a cue from Ferragamo and Bottega, the Skylar Pump ($298) packs high-octane glamour with an attitude. The rich mahogany color alone is a winner, but when you consider the relatively low heel, you’ll grab it for any work commitment in your agenda..
Onya Ankle Boot
Raise your hand if you still wear boots you bought more than five years ago? When it comes to shoes, we consider them investments that will stand the test of time. And this Onya Ankle Boot ($378) would seem to fit the bill. You can dress it up easily with a mini dress or style it with denim and a trench coat for your everyday subway ride to work.
